HANOI, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains from Thursday to Friday triggered deadly floods and landslides in northern Vietnam's Dien Bien and Son La provinces, leaving 10 people dead and four injured, the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority reported on Sunday.
In Dien Bien province, 10 people have been confirmed dead after two missing individuals were found, while 97 houses were swept away or severely damaged, and 196 others were inundated or affected by landslides.
In Son La province, four people were injured, and 17 houses were damaged or swept away, with 12 villages in two communes isolated due to collapsed roads and destroyed bridges, the report added.
