WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Having acquired Jeff Green, Dwight Howard and Austin Rivers, the Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis on Friday showed his strong confidence in the next season.

"If you look at this roster for the Wizards, I think it's as deep or the deepest team that we've ever had," Leonsis was quoted as saying by the Washington Post. "I think that the East will be very competitive, but I don't think we should be overlooked. I think we're going to have a really good team this year."

As for Howard, the former All-Star center who averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 blocks and 1.6 blocks per game with the Charlotte Hornets last season, Leonsis said the center will be a great addition to the team.

"His skill set is what we needed: someone who could run, play defense and rebound," Leonsis said.

Leonsis added that he thinks the Wizards can go "10 to 11 players deep" next season and is happy the team addressed the depth issues he thought hampered the team last season.

The Wizards went 43-39 last season and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
